About the project

Located in one of the first skyscrapers in Spain on Gran Vía del Marqués del Turia, this home
offers panoramic views of the city of Valencia. The interior renovation aimed to preserve the
mid-century spirit of the 1960 building while adapting it to contemporary needs.

With an area of 150 m2 and a layout influenced by visible concrete pillars, a minimalist design
was chosen that highlights the structure without unnecessary ornamentation. «Following the
philosophy of Miguel Milá, who stated that his design was ‘purist, rationalist, with contained
aestheticism, aiming to improve what is already present,’ this is what we sought to achieve in
this home.»

Results

The space was organized to meet the needs of a family of five, with the night zone on one facade
and the day zone on the chamfered facade. The kitchen, independent yet versatile, acts as a
filter between the entrance and the living room, connected by sliding glass doors framed in oak
wood. Oak wood details are repeated throughout the space, including the entrance hall and
corridor, creating an aesthetic continuity.

The master bedroom stands out with its use of wood, featuring a headboard with built-in storage
that extends into the walk-in closet. The master bathroom is presented as a serene retreat in
beige tones, while the children’s bathroom incorporates a touch of green inspired by the mosaic
on the building’s balcony façade.
